Esto ocurre hoy en día, en un pequeño pueblo, en alguna parte entre el Norte de África y Oriente Medio. Las mujeres van a buscar agua a un manantial, en lo alto de la montaña bajo un sol abrasador, y lo hacen desde tiempos inmemoriables. Leila, una joven esposa, propone a las mujeres hacer una huelga de amor: no más abrazos, no más sexo hasta que los hombres lleven agua al pueblo.
